This study analyses disparities among provinces and districts for the years 2011, 2009 and 2005 with respect to household socio-economic deprivations and could be used as a reliable base for provincial and district development policies. Analysis presented in this study is based on 17 variables, arranged into five groups of composite indicators, reflecting deprivation in education, health, housing quality, housing services and household wealth. At the second stage of aggregation, an overall index of multiple deprivations is developed for regions, provinces and districts of Pakistan.
