He has a Masters in Commerce and a Masters in Applied Science in Economics from Karachi University. Before joining SPDC he worked at the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, for more than 14 years in the capacity of Research and Senior Research Economist and Associated Professor. With over 30 years of teaching and research experience, Mr. Jamal has taught a variety of courses and guided various M.Phil theses. He has about 30 publications in refereed journals to his credit. He has conducted extensive research work in the areas of poverty, inequality and deprivation.
